Setting up for success
Here are some of the ways in which you can setup your workspace to look sharp
How to Look your best for the camera
1. Face a window or a light source
(in other words, the light is coming from the back of your computer)

2. Place the computer or laptop in an elevated place, where the camera is a few inches higher than your eye-level and looking down at you.
(We recommend placing a pile of books if you do not have the right tools. This makes for a stable setup)

3. Adjust your camera to a position where you are at the center of the screen. In addition, please ensure you’re not too close to the screen. An ideal distance between you and the camera would be when you see yourself like in a Passport-sized photo.

4. Wear the recommended outfit
(Ex: Lab Coat, Business formals etc)

5. Set your Virtual background if you have one. Zoom offers a few options too.

How to Manage your Environment
1. Find yourself a quiet spot at home to attend your meeting. Turn off the volume of your TV or music player so you can focus.

2. Mute your microphone when it's not your turn to talk.

3. Close the door to avoid uninvited party guests from arriving in the background. While it's not completely frowned upon, it may distract you or others on call.

If you plan to use a virtual background, please ensure the wall/structure behind you is as plain as possible
(ex. no edges, no bright colors)
